St Lawrence Church Hall

Here are the answers to all the regular questions we get asked:

  • A gate has been installed across the entrance for security reasons.  The code for this will be advised to hirers before their booking.  Please make sure the gate is closed and the lock secured before the site is vacated
  • The code for the door key lockbox which is on the right of the hall door will also be advised before the date of the booking
  • The hall capacity is 90 seated (theatre style).  There are 18 large tables and 90 chairs. Without chairs the capacity is 200 (standing only). The overall floor dimensions are 30 x 40 feet / 9 x 12 metres
  • The chairs are stacked evenly on the trolley to avoid it becoming unstable.  Care should be taken at all times
  • The on-site car park has a maximum capacity for 22. You can leave cars overnight but please remove them early the following day
  • There is a large garden by the hall which can accommodate a marquee/bouncy castle as required.  If you do plan to use the garden, please let us know at the time of booking so we can ensure the grass is cut etc.  The hirer is liable for insurance to cover use of additional equipment. Bouncy castles are only permitted outside the hall NOT inside as they might damage the floor – an additional £5 is charged for their use
  • The hall is fitted with heaters which can be operated by hall hirer
  • There are two toilets on-site including one with disabled access
  • The kitchen is fitted with an oven and under counter fridge.  There are plenty of cups, crockery and cutlery
  • There is a stage area with a piano and pull-down screen (200 x 150 cm)
  • Smoking is not permitted within the hall at any time
  • No nail, screw, hook or fastenings of any kind to be driven into the structure, furniture or fittings of the Hall. Nothing is to be stuck to the walls with Sellotape or BlueTack. No alterations to the existing light fittings or other electrical circuits shall be made without written permission.
  • All functions should finish no later than 11.30pm with the site including the car park being completely vacated by midnight
  • The hall is NOT available to hire for teenage parties
  • All rubbish is the responsibility of the hirer – there’s a large wheelie bin outside.  Please use this and if it doesn’t fit we’d be grateful if you took it elsewhere
  • The hall has wifi – the connection details are shown in the hall
  • A booking may require a deposit as well as the hire charge and full acceptance of our General Conditions & Regulations of Hiring and completion of a Booking Form. The booking form should be downloaded, completed, scanned and emailed back to: stlchurchhallbookings@gmail.com
