An Announcement from the Diocese of Guildford

Keble College is delighted to announce that Rev Phil Barlow has been appointed as Rector at Effingham with Little Bookham, subject to DBS and medical clearance.  He is currently Assistant Curate at St Mary’s Oatlands near Weybridge and we are hoping that Phil and his family might potentially be able to move during April, but details are yet to be confirmed.

Phil writes: “My family and I are both honoured and excited at being offered the opportunity for me to be your next Rector and are very much looking forward to joining you all soon. It has been so good meeting some of you over the last few months and we are really looking forward to becoming part of your family here at All Saints and St Lawrence. Happy Christmas to you all and every blessing for 2024.”

Please pray for Phil and his family as they prepare to move.

On behalf of the congregations at All Saints and St Lawrence, we warmly welcome you.

We are a growing community of Christians in the villages who regularly meet to worship God and enjoy each other’s company whilst seeking to serve those around us. We offer every type of service from 1662 Book of Common Prayer Holy Communion through to TGIS ( Thank God it’s Sunday) Services which start with delicious breakfast and includes puppets and guitars!

During the week we offer Holy Communion on a Thursday morning at St Lawrence. We also encourage our younger members by meeting at Chatterbox on Tuesdays.

Whether you have come from a Christian community or have never been to church before, you are very welcome to join us.

Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion – it is a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ.

Billy Graham

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.
