CHATTERBOX

For pre-school children & carers

Chatterbox is a regular ‘gathering’ and worship session for pre-school children and their carers, (school-aged siblings are also welcome when they can come).

On the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 10.30am to 12 noon, we meet in St Lawrence Church, Effingham. On the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month from 10.30am to 12.00 noon, we meet in the Bowdler Room at All Saints Church, Little Bookham.

It’s a great opportunity to get to know others with children and to introduce children to the Christian faith in an informal child-friendly atmosphere.  There are toys for the children to play with and a craft activity related to a chosen Bible Story.

After refreshments are served, our service begins with the telling of the Bible story. We sing some lively songs accompanied by the guitar and the children are encouraged to play percussion instruments.

We finish the service with a short sung prayer and a blessing for each child present. There is then the opportunity for the older children to ring the church bell.
Many parents would like their children to learn about Jesus Christ and also to hear the stories from the Bible, but regular Sunday morning worship is not always convenient. Our Chatterbox congregation is considered a vital part of our wider church family and its members, both great and small, are much valued.
